Types of Weaves (Textile weaving)

Here are a few common weaving patterns:

  • Plain Weave: The most basic weave, with warp and weft threads crossing over one another alternately. Found in fabrics like cotton muslin and canvas.
  • Twill Weave: Recognizable by its diagonal lines, used in denim and gabardine.
  • Satin Weave: Has fewer interlacings, giving a smooth and lustrous surface. Often used in luxury garments and upholstery.
  • Jacquard Weave: Intricate patterns woven on a special loom; perfect for decorative textiles.
